Superintendent's Weekly Update 11-19-21

“The Douglas Public Schools offer diverse learning experiences that meet the academic, social, physical, and emotional needs of all students. We provide a safe, supportive, and challenging learning environment in which students may achieve academic success and personal growth. Decisions are made in the best interest of students.”

Hello,

Good luck to DBVS as they take on The Bromfield School Saturday at 4PM at Doyle Field in Leominster for the D5 State Title. What a ride! What an accomplishment! Come on out and support our boys as they compete for a State Title. Tickets can be purchased at https://gofan.co/app/school/MIAA.

Just a reminder that if your student is symptomatic or living with someone who is symptomatic that they need to stay home from school. We have had a few cases recently in which symptomatic students came to school and had to be sent home. Please help us keep students and staff safe by following this guidance.

COVID Vaccine Clinic:

The Douglas Public Schools will host a Vaccine Clinic on Monday November 29 from 3PM to 6PM at the Elementary School. A link to sign up for the clinic with additional information will be sent out shortly.

COVID Dashboard:

Attached is a link to our COVID Dashboard that will be updated weekly. Unlike last year where I sent our letters every time we had a COVID positive case, I will not do that this year. This Dashboard will provide you with weekly numbers by building. We will continue to reach out to close contacts and also to families if they have been exposed to a presumptive positive student.

I would like to wish each of you a Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you have a great few days off next week and are able to safely celebrate and enjoy time with family and friends.

Respectfully,

Paul Vieira, Ed.D.

Superintendent
